How To Make Christmas Fun For Kids This Year

Two focuses of my blog are Health/Wellness and Home/Living Discussions. With Covid-19, this has been an unusual year where everything has been impacted even our holidays. The following contributed post is entitled, How To Make Christmas Fun For Kids This Year.

* * *

Christmas will always be a fun time for children, but sometimes the magic can be forgotten a little as adults try to make sure everything is ‘just so’ before the big day. Although this is necessary, it can be hard to get everything done and make sure the kids are entertained not just on Christmas Day but in the days (and maybe weeks) leading up to it.

This year especially is potentially tricky; you may not be able to see friends and family, and children may start to become frustrated because the things they would typically do each Christmas aren’t available.

Children are only little for a short time, and it’s important to make sure every Christmas is the best it can be, including this one. This doesn’t have to be expensive, and it doesn’t have to cause you stress or put you under pressure. There are many activities and fun traditions that kids can join in with that will give you time together or apart (depending on what you need to be doing) and ensure they have a Christmas holiday they’ll always remember. Read on for some great ideas to keep the magic alive for the kids this Christmastime.

Make Ornaments

You can never have too many Christmas ornaments, and if you want to give the kids something to do that will keep them – and you if you want to join in – occupied for a while, and give you something lovely to hang on your tree year after year, making ornaments is a great choice.

You can even mix this idea up with a scavenger hunt so that the children have to search around the house for the items they need to make the decorations with. They can use natural items such as pinecones and twigs or any leftover materials such as cardboard, ribbons, wrapping paper, Christmas cards, and more. This should be a cheap but fun activity for everyone.

Enjoy A Party

Restrictions might mean that parties can’t take place in the way they usually would, but that doesn’t mean there are no parties to be had, and the Christmas season can be a jolly one when you think a little more laterally.

Using video calling technology such as Zoom means your children can ‘meet’ with their school friends to have a great online party. You can organize this yourself and plan out games and other activities for everyone to enjoy, or you can hire someone to do it for you. You can even pick a theme such as a Zoom magic show that will keep everyone happy for a while and give them a lovely boost of Christmas spirit as they can see their friends and interact with them even if they can’t meet up in real life. This idea can even be used for adult parties too, and your office party will really be livened up with a magician on Zoom.

Try Baking

You don’t have to be an amazingly skilled baker to have fun in the kitchen. You don’t have to have any skills at all, as this particular way to make the kids happy is all about enjoying yourself and laughing together, rather than creating a masterpiece of baking prowess.

Make sure you set aside plenty of time for this task, as baking can often take longer than you think it will, plus you’ll need to plan so you can get the ingredients you need to create each baked item.

Ask each family member to choose one thing they would like to bake, and then you can plan ahead. On the day itself, don’t be too strict about things, though; it’s good to let loose and experiment a little, and if the cakes and sweet treats don’t look exactly like the recipe says they should, it really doesn’t matter as long as they taste good (and even if they don’t, if you all had fun it was worth every second)!

Christmas Movie Day

One thing that will never change when it comes to Christmas is all the great movies you can find around the theme. Whether it’s Elf, The Polar Express, Home Alone, Miracle On 34th Street, Santa Clause the Movie, or any of the thousands of other examples, taking a whole day off work to be with your kids and enjoy the magic and fun that a good Christmas movie can offer is something they will never forget.

Make it even better by adding snacks like popcorn or getting pizza delivered. Create a blanket fort to watch the movies in. Draw titles from a hat so you never know what’s coming next, or all take a turn watching. Wear your pajamas all day.

The point is, your kids will appreciate the time spent with you when you’re not distracted by work or trying to do other things. This is what makes Christmas special, this year and every year.

Making The Most Of A Locked Down Christmas

Two focuses of my blog are Current Events and Health/Wellness. In addition to impacting everything else in our society, Covid-19 has impacted our holiday celebrations. After impacting Thanksgiving, it will impact Christmas as well for those who celebrate it. There are still ways to enjoy you holiday though. The following contributed post is entitled, Making The Most Of A Locked Down Christmas.

* * *

Many people around the world are likely to be caught in the middle of some kind of lockdown during Christmas – or at the very least, having some kind of restriction on what they can do during this period. Indeed, these are very challenging times. Even if things are looking to improve slightly, there is no doubt that Christmas is going to be very different this year. With that in mind, let’s take a look on how you might be able to make the most of Christmas this year, even if things are in lockdown where you are, or something very much like it.

Plan It Early

Now that you might have some idea about what you are allowed to do during Christmas, you might want to start planning for it in some way or another. As long as you do that, you are going to be much more likely to make the most of it, and you should be able to mitigate against any unwanted or unforeseen incidents as well that might crop up. You can’t plan for every eventuality, but if you start thinking now you should be able to find out what you can do. The more you plan, the more you will be able to make of this strange Christmas.

See Some Family

If you are able to and it is within the rules where you are, you should aim to try and see some family at the very least. However, make sure that you only do this if you feel okay about it – and try to keep everyone as safe as possible while you are doing it. That means not going too overboard and ensuring that you are always keeping up with the latest restrictions. But there should be nothing wrong with seeing some family at least, even if it is not always going to be simple to do this.

Take A Short Holiday

If you would normally take some kind of a holiday during the Christmas winter period, you might want to try and do this still this year. Of course, your options are bound to be limited compared to most years, but even so you should still find that it is perfectly possible to have some kind of holiday with at least a couple of family members or friends. For instance, you might want to go on a winter road trip with your 4×4 wheels and see some of your home country that way. Or you could find an indoor ski centre that is open and try to replicate a skiing holiday that way. However you do it, taking some kind of holiday is going to really make it easier to feel like you are having a normal Christmas.

Get Gifts Early

There is a good chance that you are going to struggle to get all your Christmas presents in the same way as normal, and in all likelihood you are going to have to think about doing this earlier than usual. You will probably need to do much more of it online than you would normally have to too. It’s therefore wise to start thinking about this now – and over time you should find that you are going to have a lot more in the way of appropriate gifts by the time Christmas comes around. This is one year when it might be worthwhile thinking outside of the box a little, so that you can find some gifts for people easily and without causing yourself too much stress. If you can do that, you are going to be helping everyone to make the most of Christmas this year.

Buy Christmas Cards Online

Different families and friend groups tend to have a variety of different ideas around the concept of Christmas cards. But if you are keen to make sure that you are still buying people cards, you should consider the easy option of going online to buy them. Although you could buy Christmas cards the traditional way and simply post them, using an online service is going to mean that you can have them delivered straight to the person as part of the process. You can often customise these cards more than you could normally too, so that makes them much nicer to receive on the whole.

Host An Outdoor Christmas

If there are some people you are not going to be able to see on Christmas day itself, you could try and organise an outdoor Christmas event on a different day earlier in December – or just after Christmas – and in that way, be able to have a socially distanced Christmas with those people. This could be as simple as having a decorated Christmas tree in your garden and sharing gifts around it with some hot drinks, or it could be more along the lines of a night-time fire. However you do it, you might find that this is a fair compromise, and a great way to see your friends safely without breaking rules, while still having a wonderful Christmas.

Be Certain Of Your Priorities

If you are wondering just how seriously you should take the restrictions for this year’s Christmas, you might want to spend a little time thinking about where your priorities lie. Truly, nobody else can tell you what you should be doing or what is right and wrong. It’s up to you to decide. But you should make sure that you are clear on your priorities. For most people, this will probably mean that the obvious step is to have a slightly less active Christmas than usual, and therefore keep everyone safer on the whole. It’s all down to you, but make sure that you spend some time before Christmas itself comes around deciding what you want to do. The sooner you get clear on this, the less of a shock it will be when Christmsa time comes and you find it is not quite the same event as usual.

Delay Celebrations

One option, and one that quite a lot of people are thinking about, is to simply delay certain Christmas celebrations until next year. There is every chance that things could have massively improved by February or March, at which time you could decide to have a Christmas celebration then instead. This is a great way of having the best of both worlds. You can simply have a quiet Christmas at home this year, and then see friends and family in the new year once it is perfectly safe to do so. Although this might seem like a bit of a sacrifice, it’s actually a great way to get the best of both worlds, and it will mean that everybody can keep as safe as possible along the way too. It’s certainly something you might want to consider.

Keep It Quiet

Finally, why not make use of this year’s strangeness to simply have a quiet Christmas at home? If you are someone who generally gets a little overwhelmed by Christmas at the best of times, you might even be secretly looking forward to this one. There are certainly benefits to keeping it quiet, and you might find that you are able to save up some energy for next year instead. If this appeals to you, give it a go and see whether it improves your experience of Christmas this year.

As you can see, there are a lot of things to consider this year for Christmas. The most important thing is that you think logically, plan ahead, and don’t let the stress get to you.

How to Regain Your Focus in Life

A key focus of my blog is Health/Wellness. A key to your personal health is having a level of focus and direction in your life. Having this focus will allow you to invest your energies in positive places and prevent them from getting lost in negative places. The following contributed post is entitled, How to Regain Your Focus in Life.

We are living in uncertain times, so it is natural for this to impact your wellbeing. For many people, the current COVID-19 situation has taken them out of their daily routine and put their usual activities on hold. This, combined with extra time at home to think can lead you to raise a few questions about your direction in life, and what you are hoping to do with your future. During these challenging times, you may have lost your focus a little and be looking for ways to regain this. If you feel that you have lost some of your direction in life, and are looking to get back on track and return to the ‘new normal’ with renewed energy, why not give some of these ideas a try and see if they work for you?

Reconnect with Your Talents

Everyone has talents and things that they enjoy doing. Reconnecting with your talents is an excellent way to remember what you are good at and which activities bring greater enjoyment to your life. The process of reconnecting with these is useful to help you focus your energy on things that you enjoy and make you feel good about yourself.

Get Inspired

Discovering the paths to success that inspirational people have followed is a useful way to get some inspiration for your journey. Seeing the route that successful people in society, like Alex Becker, have taken will help you to see how others have made changes in their lives and focused their attention on their future goals to enable them to make significant achievements.

Having inspirational role models to look up to shows you that it is possible to regain your focus and take back your control over your future.

Talk it Through

If you are feeling truly stuck in a rut and unable to move forward, then speaking to a professional can be super helpful. Scheduling an appointment with a trained counselor or therapist can help you to gain a greater understanding of the way that you are feeling. With guidance from your counselor, you should be able to move forward through the thoughts that are holding you back and to focus instead on the present and what you want from your future.

Make an Action Plan

Making a plan of action that lays out step by step how you can move your life forward is an excellent way to get yourself back on track. You may want to think of the action plan as a road map to your future success. It is much easier to work towards your goal when it is broken down into smaller, actionable steps. This enables you to make constant progress and keep track of how far you have come.

Remember, regaining your focus and achieving what you want to in life is not something that happens overnight. Instead, it is a journey, which makes it even more satisfying when you reach your goal. What will be your first step towards regaining your focus?

The Benefits of Gentle Exercise

A key focus of my blog is Health/Wellness. Most people think of exercise in the vigorous context. Gentle exercise has a very, very important role to play as well and be very beneficial. The following contributed post is entitled, The Benefits of Gentle Exercise.

We all know that exercise is a critical part of a healthy lifestyle, but you don’t have to spend hours at the gym or run for miles in order to get results. In fact, gentle exercise can be a great way to achieve your fitness goals and overhaul your physical and emotional well-being. To learn more, take a look at some of the benefits of gentle exercise:

Weight Loss

If you’re aiming to lose weight, it’s easy to assume that you’ll need to do intense workouts to shed the pounds. However, this isn’t necessarily true. Studies have shown that exercising at a gentler pace can be as effective when it comes to losing weight. In addition to this, participants also saw an improvement in their cholesterol levels and blood pressure readings, which highlights just how much gentle exercise can impact your health.

Reduced Risk of Injury

Intense workouts tend to be a heavier impact, which can increase the risk of injury. Running can place a significant amount of stress on your joints, for example, which could cause an injury or exacerbate an on-going issue. In contrast, gentle exercise, such as yoga or Pilates, allows you to reap the benefits of working out while reducing your risk of being injured.

Increased Sociability

Exercise doesn’t have to be a solo activity. In fact, exercising with other people can help you to stay motivated and keep you accountable. Of course, it’s much easier to engage with others when you’re having a leisurely round of golf or taking a brisk walk than it is if you’re taking part in a spinning class or lifting heavy weights. By choosing to do gentle exercises, you can turn your workouts into a social activity and enjoy them all the more.

Lower Stress Levels

The sympathetic nervous system is responsible for how your body reacts to stressful or dangerous situations, but it can also be triggered by intense exercise. Sometimes referred to as the ‘flight or fight response’, you’ll notice that your body mimics the physical effects of anxiety when you’re engaging in a strenuous workout. By switching to a gentler form of exercise, you can prevent this from happening while still gaining the health benefits associated with being active. As a result, you can enjoy a calmer and less stressful workout.

Motivation

If you’re struggling to stay motivated, the thought of undertaking a grueling workout can put you off exercising altogether. When you’re committed to doing gentle exercise, however, it’s far easier to stay motivated and keep to your routine. This means you can hit your fitness goals more quickly when you incorporate gentle exercise into your schedule.

Finding the Best Gentle Exercises

When it comes to gentle exercises, there are plenty of options to choose from. A brisk walk, a round of golf, or a leisurely bike ride are all great ways to boost your fitness, for example. Alternatively, yoga, Tai Chi, and Pilates are great forms of gentle exercise that can enhance your physical and emotional well-being.

How To Take The Stress Our Of Running A Car

Two focuses of my blog are Health/Wellness and Technology. An important piece of technology most of us own and invest copious sums of money in is our cars. While transportation is a cost no matter what market you live in, cars can be a major source of stress as there are hidden costs in them. The following contributed post is entitled, How To Take The Stress Our Of Running A Car.

* * *

Many of us rely on cars to get to work, travel and see friends and family. Although driving can be fun, and it’s a convenient way to get around, running a car can be stressful. In this guide, we’ll explore some effective solutions to take the hassle out of owning a car.

Maintenance
Car maintenance should be a priority for every driver, but it can fall by the wayside when life gets hectic. If you can’t remember the last time you checked your tires or your oil, now is the time to start looking after your car. Basic maintenance can reduce the risk of breaking down and it can also prolong the lifespan of your vehicle and lower costs in the future. It’s particularly important to check your car on a regular basis during the winter months and before you set off on a long journey. Make sure you have enough fuel in the tank, check the tire pressure and tread and top up your oil and water levels. It’s wise to book services frequently to ensure that any problems are identified and addressed quickly.

Replacing parts
Many of us drive around without a care in the world, assuming that our cars will never let us down. The truth is that even the most reliable vehicle may need some TLC along the way. It’s crucial to take good care of your car, but also to seek advice and consider replacing parts such as coil springs or brake pads if there are warning lights on the display, you notice strange noises or odors, or you want to enhance the performance of your vehicle. There are some jobs you can do yourself, but if you have concerns or the task is more complex, seek expert advice.

Shop around to save money
Cost is one of the most significant sources of stress for drivers. It can be expensive to keep a car on the road. If you are trying to save, there are various steps you can take. Investing in maintenance work will save you money in the long-run, but you can also shop around for insurance and reduce expenses by buying a fuel-efficient vehicle. If your insurance is due for renewal, don’t automatically roll the policy over until you’ve compared the offer to deals from other providers. You can use the Internet to search for policies in a matter of seconds, and you could save a fortune.

Drive carefully
Driving can be dangerous, and thousands of people are injured in crashes every year. To lower the risk of collisions and make driving more enjoyable, keep your eyes on the road at all times, give other vehicles time and space, pay attention to the speed limit and take extra care if the road is slippery, it’s raining heavily or visibility is poor.

4 Ways to Make the Most of Time at Home this Winter

Two focuses of my blog are Creating Ecosystems of Success and Health/Wellness. With Covid-19, this may be an especially long winter. Similar to most of the year, using the time wisely will be of the utmost importance even if just for your personal health. The following contributed post is entitled, 4 Ways to Make the Most of Time at Home this Winter.

Over the past year, you have likely spent more time at home than ever before due to the pandemic. As the weather starts to grow colder and the winter arrives, you may be starting to spend more time at home once again. If you are worried that you will struggle to stay occupied at home over the winter, then it may help to plan some ideas to fill your time. Now is the perfect opportunity to acquire new interests and to rediscover past hobbies. If you are looking for ideas to keep you entertained at home, why not give some of these a try?

1. Learn a Language

Learning a language is an excellent way to spend time and could be extremely useful. If you love traveling, why not learn the language of your favorite vacation destination? Alternatively, why not master a language that will further your career? Bi-lingual employees are always in high demand. You could even make a complete career change based on your new language skills, such as teaching English as a foreign language or working as an interpreter.

2. Discover Fascinating Facts

Everyone loves to learn fascinating facts, so why not do some research and discover new information to impress your friends with? You are sure to be the most popular member of your quiz team when armed with all these facts! With a little research, you can find out everything from who chrese evans is, to which country consumes the most chocolate. There is a whole world of information out there just waiting to be discovered.

3. Acquire a New Skill

If you want to use your time at home wisely, then learning a new skill is a great idea. Now is the perfect time to learn that skill that you have always wanted to master, but never had the time. If you have always wanted to learn to cook like a pro or to play the guitar like a rock star, then now could be your perfect chance to do it! Why not seize this window of opportunity and give it a go!

If you live with your family, why not see if they would be interested in learning something new? Developing a new skill can be so much more fun when you are learning alongside someone else and sharing the learning journey.

4. Reconnect with Friends

During the first stay at home order, many people found that they felt lonely and isolated. To avoid this, it is crucial to try and nurture your wellbeing as much as possible. While you may not be out and about during the lockdown and unable to meet up with people in-person, it is essential to connect with others during this time. With extra time spent at home, you may find that you have the opportunity to get back in touch with family members and friends that you don’t usually have the time to speak with.

Reconnecting with loved ones and learning new things will certainly keep you busy while at home.

Why Women Should Participate More Often In Golf

Two focuses of my blog are Athletics/Sports and Health/Wellness. Many people find out that they actually enjoy the game of golf for numerous reasons. It’s classically been considered a men’s sport but more and more women are starting to play golf both professionally and leisurely. The following contributed post is entitled, Why Women Should Participate More Often In Golf.

* * *

On June 6, the International Day of Women who play golf, was celebrated in 46 countries. This day was created to celebrate all the female players in this sport and give them visibility within the industry. If we ask ourselves how many times we have seen images of women practising golf, the almost certain answer would be none.

Today it is no secret that women are increasingly climbing more positions in all areas of human development as women carry out such a wide range of activities today. Men often dominate the world of sport, and this stigma is something that should be eradicated in modern times. Women can certainly demonstrate what they are capable of achieving. Today we know a sports world full mostly of men, but it is also known that gender differences have been decreasing, with fewer spaces between women and men. It is seen with football, basketball and others. The world of golf is also one of them. Here are some of the most important reasons why women should practice golf. Once these practices are set firmly in our minds, it will be difficult to stop playing.

1. Golf is an ideal sport to keep fit. Golf is a medium intensity activity in which the joints do not suffer. Also, it is good to maintain the muscles and to fight against the loss of bone mass. And best of all, it helps your cardiovascular health!

2. There are usually numerous golf clubs in and around your area where you can practice it.

3. Golf is a great way to relieve stress. Besides, it improves concentration, which carried to other areas of life, can become an important weapon.

4. Playing golf, and in general, any physical activity favors the generation of endorphins that provides a feeling of well-being.

5. It is an ideal sport to practice with friends, family, co-workers. It allows you to do a different and exciting activity. Competition can be very positive.

6. It will aid sleep and help you rest better. Playing golf will allow you to have a more restful and effective rest.

7. It gives you the opportunity to enjoy an outdoor activity with all the benefits that they entail.

8. And as women, one of the most important reasons is fashion. Despite being with a look that is not at all executive or casual, the dress code and appropriate dress for women golfers are both sophisticated and stylish. It allows you to learn about sporting fashion and purchase some incredible women’s golf clothing.

Many women today feel so sure of themselves, and all admire their high level of play. The golfing world is not just limited to sport. It can become a place of socializing too. Women are likely to invite their boyfriends or spouses to join them. Golf clubs are also a great place to meet like minded people who share similar interests. Let’s also remember that an 18-hole course can last more than 4 hours and also, so it is a way to unwind and the time dedicated to the sport should be paramount.

Looking After Yourself Is About More Than Eating Well

A key focus of my blog is Health/Wellness. A lot of people think that your health is related strictly to diet. While there is a dietary component involved, there are other keys as well. The following contributed post is entitled, Looking After Yourself Is About More Than Eating Well.

* * *

We all know that we need to look after ourselves, but some people seem to think that eating well is where this ends. As if somehow eating well is going to sort out any and all issues that you may have and keep you in the best possible health. Of course, eating well is important to keeping yourself healthy, but that doesn’t mean it’s the only thing you should be doing. In this article, we’re going to be taking a look at some of the other things that you should be doing. Keep reading down below if you would like to find out more.

You’ve Got To Exercise

Source Location – CC0 Licence

The first thing that we’re going to mention is that you’ve got to exercise. Some people seem to be under the impression that exercise is only important if you’re trying to lose weight or have some other kind of fitness goal. This is not true because exercise is essential for keeping yourself healthy no matter what. It’s not a good idea to get into the mindset that you don’t need to be active because you do. However, this doesn’t mean that you need to get up and go to the gym five days per week, completing intense cardio every time. Exercise could be anything from walking for thirty minutes to swimming for half an hour. There are so many different ways to ensure that your body is staying active, so find one that you enjoy.

Think About Your Life Path

Another thing that you need to do is think about the path that you want to be on. It doesn’t matter what path you choose to go down, as long as you know roughly where you are headed in terms of your health. For example, if you are not ready to have a baby right now, you need to make sure that you are using contraception to avoid this happening. Or, if you know that you have some kind of health condition that needs medication to keep it managed, you’ve got to ensure that you’re taking it.

Don’t Isolate Yourself

CC0 Licence – Picture Link

The final thing that we’re going to mention is the fact that you shouldn’t isolate yourself. This is bad for your mental health as it can push you into feeling as though you are alone, even when you’re not. Your mental health needs to be looked after as much as your physical health does, so ensure that when things feel like they are getting tough, you seek out the help that you need. Notice the signs that you’re starting to slip and acknowledge that they are there. Don’t try to hide from them because this is only going to make things worse.

We hope that you have found this article helpful and now have a better understanding as to some of the things that you should be doing to look after yourself. Make sure that you are eating well, but don’t forget about the things on this list as well. Good luck.

Tips To Keep Your Staff Safe In The Workplace

A key focus of my blog is Health/Wellness and Organizational/Management Discussions. If you’re a business owner or in management, a key objective of yours should be to keep your employees and your workplace safe. The following contributed post is entitled, Tips To Keep Your Staff Safe In The Workplace.

* * *

Your staff’s safety in the workplace should certainly be the main priority of yours. When it comes to your workplace, you have a responsibility to your employees in making sure that where they’re working is safe and isn’t going to bring or cause them harm in any way. With that said, here are some tips to keep your staff safe in the workplace.

Put Safety Measures In Place

Safety measures are a great way of ensuring that your staff is being looked after and that there are precautions in place to help avoid injury altogether. This might be in the form of signs and warnings that are placed around the worksite or office, for example. You may want to introduce everyone that comes into the company with an office safety training pack or to have either your HR or operations manager train the staff member in the basics of keeping safe in the office. There are lots of different measures you can take to ensure that your staff is being looked after and it’s up to you as the employer to make sure that these expectations are being met at all times. If not, then you could be liable for legal cases where a staff member has been injured to a lack of safety precautions in place. That’s not a situation you should want to find yourself in.

Have The Right Protective Gear

The right protective gear is important when it comes to keeping safe, and with medical supplies being in demand at the moment due to COVID, this should be a reminder that our health is important. Look at what you might be lacking when it comes to protective gear not only for general work tasks but also those areas of the business where staff might be working with particular machinery that can also pose a danger.

Educate Your Employees

As much as you have a responsibility to your staff, they also have a responsibility for their own wellbeing and that of their colleagues. With that being said, it’s good if you can offer them any additional training that you think they might need when it comes to them staying safe within the workplace. There’s plenty of basic training courses that could be useful for them as well as common courses like First Aid Training, etc. It’s important you have some sort of budget when it comes to staff training.

Encourage Regular Breaks

Regular breaks are a must, and so it’s worth making sure each and every staff member is getting the breaks they need throughout the day. Be strict on ensuring they’re getting up from their desk and not spending their lunch breaks eating in front of their computer. Be the encouragement they need to take a proper break and to ensure regular breaks are also taken throughout the course of the working day.

Safety in the workplace is paramount, so be sure to check that every staff member is ok and that you’re doing all you can for their safety.

Stop Being Tired: Making the Right Fixes

A key focus of my blog is Health/Wellness. With our increased technology and more efficient lives, many people are neglecting sleep which is a key component of our person health. Without proper sleep, our bodies open up to a host of maladies. The following contributed post is entitled, Stop Being Tired: Making the Right Fixes.

Despite the pandemic that everybody is living through, there is still something that we all appear to suffer from which is impacting most of our lives, and it seems it’s always been there. Being tired, exhausted, or fatigue are all aspects that every single one of us suffers from on occasion, or more likely, is endemic through our lives. It seems that learning to prioritize sleep is very low on the agenda. And it is hardly a surprise because there are so many people that are told they have to prioritize their jobs or they worry about so many different aspects of their lives, sleep is very low on the agenda. We need to prioritize this but what else do we need to consider when we are learning to overcome any form of exhaustion?

Reducing Use of the Dreaded Mobile Device
It’s something that we all need to use at arm’s length. It’s something that is hardly out of our peripheries. When you consider road accidents fatalities in the US in 2018, 2.1% of drivers were visibly manipulating hand-held devices while driving. If it’s such a priority to use your phone while you are driving, this says a lot about your relationship with this device. There’s a lot to be said for what a mobile device can do for us in our lives but we can’t seem to remove it from our lives at all.

Because there are so many issues associated with excessive mobile phone use, not just depression or anxiety which can impact sleep, but also the fact that the blue light interrupts our sleep hormone, melatonin, we need to figure out a way to improve a relationship with this device. You could take inspiration from the former leader of the Huffington Post, Arianna Huffington, who completely bans her phone from the bedroom, or you can find the right balance.

When we compare the happiness of people in the modern-day to 20 years ago, the one major difference is that mobile phones were not widespread. Now, they are everywhere and depression is creeping up, especially in younger people. Removing the device from your life is hard work, but it is possible to have a good working relationship with this device. But much like any addiction, you may need to go cold turkey first.

Addressing Your Attitudes to Stress
When we feel tired constantly, we’ve got to address fatigue in all of its forms. When we feel tired in every aspect of our lives, it’s not just about energizing ourselves but it’s about looking at the habits we undertake that exhaust us. Rather than focusing on one big habit, it may very well be a combination of factors that make you feel tired physically, mentally, and emotionally. This is why we’ve got to prioritize stress reduction as a daily habit. It could be through incorporating breathing exercises or meditation, but it may also be about learning how to not sweat the small stuff. This goes back to what our phones do for us.

We are exposed to other people’s lives constantly and our thoughts can get carried away with us, especially when we think that we are not leading our best life. When we start to compare ourselves unfavorably to others, or we think that we should be doing more, this emotional and mental fatigue clouds our lives. It can manifest itself in other ways, not just tiredness. You may very well think that you’ve got an allergy to something or you may mistakenly assume that you are tired for a completely different reason.

Because mental fatigue is something that can stay with us for a long time, it becomes a part of who we are. Therefore, we don’t necessarily notice that we have any problem. The best thing that we can all do is understand what stress is doing to us as individuals. This means we’ve got to check into ourselves and begin the process of either removing stressful components from our lives that we didn’t consider to be exhausting or realizing that there are habits we do without thinking they are bad for us. This is something we may consider just to be associated with feeling physically tired, but this is a problem that can compound as we get older. Being tired is not necessarily a bad thing, but when we feel like it constantly, this is when it is imperative that we address the fundamentals underneath it.

Being tired isn’t a way of life, yet so many people constantly talk about feeling like this. While you may think it’s about making the right fixes, it’s also about addressing what is underneath this.
