Focusing On Financial Viability To Support Longevity

Two focuses of my blog are Financial Literacy/Money and Business/Entrepreneurship. There are numerous important aspects to running a business beside the revenue generation. You can give your chance the best prospects for succeeding by paying attention to them. The following contributed post is entitled, Focusing On Financial Viability To Support Longevity.

Improving the financial viability of your company is vital to help you survive a range of economic factors including, but not limited to, inflation, changes in consumer demands, political unrest, wars and the threat of cybercrime, to name a few. Businesses that can prepare for the future and account for any changes and fluctuations in the landscape can support growth and longevity; however, this isn’t possible without first securing your financial viability and ensuring that you are well-placed to withstand anything thrown in your direction.

Accounting

Staying on top of your accounts is vital. Every business owner knows this. Poor cash flow and accounting are leading causes of business failure.

Daily records of transactions, incomings and outgoings will help you to see where you are right now. At the same time, accounting diligence can give you a more comprehensive oversight of your financial position, potential risks, and compliance, amongst other things. This is all vital information to help you make the best financial decisions going forward.

Improving Branding

To make your business future-proof, you need to offer something no one in the market is or a better quality of service or product than your competitors. Strategically increasing prices in line with quality standards can help you to focus on improved branding and reputation, thus cementing your standing in your industry. While raising prices can be a risk, it is a calculated one that can pay off if you have the standards to back up the cost increase.

Manage Debt

Debt can be useful in helping the business achieve its goals, expand, and develop what they do. However, too much debt can be damaging. Check if you can pay off your debts sooner rather than later or refinance what you owe to get better rates so you can preserve your cash flow for the business without putting it all at risk.

Manage Assets

You need to monitor the assets you own, their value, and their depreciation rates. Do you know how much cash is held in your assets? You must also know how quickly they are turned into liquid assets to support cash flow if required. Once you know this, you can determine if you need to hold onto them or sell them and invest in newer models and equipment.

Prioritise Cash Flow

Earlier in this post, it was touched upon about staying on top of your accounts. However, prioritising cash flow will help you to maintain good standing and financial viability more than putting other methods in place. How much you hold in liquid value you can easily access will help you make the right choices and ensure you aren’t hitting any stumbling blocks regarding your finances, putting you on the back foot.

Financial viability is about ensuring you know exactly where your business stands financially, how to prepare for changes in the industry, how your company can adapt and where all of your money is held. This information will support you going forward and allow you to make the right decisions and changes to support future plans and growth.

Discussions on Alternative Energies for Transportation: A Look at the Future

“There is a mass hunt underway for alternative energies here in the United States and in many countries around the globe.”

The Search For Alternatives To Petroleum Fuels

There is a mass hunt underway for alternative energies here in the United States and in many countries around the globe. The hope is to increase their usage in all modes of transportation to the point where fossil fuels are phased out. I have become more educated on this effort since starting my science and technology YouTube channel entitled, Big Discussions76 Science and Technology.

A major key to learning about alternative fuels and transportation was getting involved with the Greater Washington Region Clean Cities Coalition (GWRCCC). I covered the GWRCCC’s 2022 2023 Opening Reception. I was fortunate to interview three individuals in the aftermath of the GWRCCC’s annual meeting and opening reception on my science and technology YouTube channel. They were Antoine Thompson, Floyd Vergara and finally Sheryl Ponds. The links to all three interviews are below. Please give them a look and a like. How Much Alcohol Should You Drink

A key focus of my blog is Health/Wellness. While it is a popular social beverage and a personal means to unwind, alcohol can also be dangerous for multiple parties. The following contributed post is entitled, How Much Alcohol Should You Drink.

It is okay to drink some alcohol? Our society loves to make us believe that it’s a normal part of socializing and existing as a functional human being, but is it?

That’s the topic of this post. We explore whether we really do need alcohol and some of the consequences of drinking even a small amount of it occasionally.

The Facts About Alcohol Consumption

The CDC is currently the world’s leading authority on the amount of alcohol people should drink, and respected all over the world. It says that alcohol consumption is associated with all sorts of short- and long-term health risks, including:-

● High blood pressure
● Various forms of cancers
● Sexually risky behaviors
● Motor vehicle accidents
● Violence

That’s one of the reasons the police are so concerned about public disorder offenses involving alcohol. Intoxication makes people less inhibited, and they are more likely to lose control of their faculties while under the influence.

The CDC recommends various approaches to reduce the risk of alcohol-related harm. It says that men should drink 2 or less drinks per day, and women should have 1 or less drinks per day.

That’s interesting. Under this scheme, the average person can still consume a substantial quantity of alcohol across the course of the week, potentially drinking at least something every day.

Are There Any People Who Shouldn’t Drink?

It turns out that there are some people who shouldn’t drink at all. The first group is, obviously, those under the legal age. However, there are individuals who are of legal age who should also generally avoid the habit.

Pregnant women, for instance, should avoid alcohol consumption because it can cause serious, untreatable birth defects. You should also avoid alcohol =if you are taking medications that interact with the substance. Side effects from combining, say, the antibiotic metronidazole with alcohol can be severe.

Lastly, anyone recovering from an alcohol disorder should also avoid alcohol entirely. Stepping back into dangerous behaviors can restart the cycle, leading to more rounds of treatment and damage to the body.

What Does The Science Of Moderate Alcohol Use Say?

It turns out that even if you drink within the CDC’s recommendations of 2 drinks per day for men, and 1 drink per day for women, you may be putting yourself at elevated risk of disease and death from all causes. Alcohol, it appears, is generally bad for the body and not something that anyone serious about their health should be consuming.

Some past studies previously indicated that alcohol consumption might be beneficial for health. However, these studies are now being contradicted by more controlled trials and mechanistic evidence supporting the notion of harm.

Furthermore, the recommendations are to moderate alcohol consumption over the course of a week by drinking the same amount every day. However, that’s not how behavior patterns work in most drinkers. The majority do not drink the same quantity daily. Instead, they consume dramatically higher amounts at the weekend, usually when socializing with friends.

Ultimately, therefore, the answer to the question; “how much alcohol should you drink?” is “as little as possible.”

Perspectives on Modern Reproductive Biology, Biological Clocks, Freezing Eggs and Sperm, and Increased Vasectomies

“I intentionally said potential unintended consequences above because economists such as Thomas Malthus and scientists such as Paul R. Ehrlich once theorized that the world would become overpopulated with human beings. I suspect they were not alone then and today.”

A Brave New World

It goes without saying that we were living in unprecedented times. Something I ponder and state frequently on my original YouTube channel, Big Discussions76 is that it is a very different world than it was 60-70 years ago when my parents and their peers were young. People from 100 years ago furthermore would not recognize today’s world. A major change has been in gender roles and relations. An unintended consequence of the political and social changes put into place in the 1970s has been added complexities to family creation and reproduction. It likewise is no longer a simple calculus nor is it a forgone conclusion that everyone will form families in the traditional sense and create progeny.

Do Culture and Environment Impact Behavior?

I could say that it is simply societal changes but concern about whether planet Earth will be here in another 20 years is also affecting people today. I have started covering the climate debate on my science and technology YouTube channel entitled, Big Discussions76 Science and Technology. As with many things there have been potential unintended consequences from the debate, particularly the Climate ‘Alarmist’ side. It seems fear of the world burning up and not being here in future has dissuaded younger people from having children. I intentionally said potential unintended consequences above because economists such as Thomas Malthus and scientists such as Paul R. Ehrlich once theorized that the world would become overpopulated with human beings. I suspect they were not alone then and today.

By the way the United States and other western countries are at negative replacement levels, something not openly discussed though the fruits of which many of us will witness in our lifetimes. I first learned about Paul R. Ehrlich from the late Dr. Joseph Fail, Jr. as an undergraduate at Johnson C. Smith University. I did not understand the significance of Mr. Ehrlich’s fear/theory though I do currently wonder if his and Mr. Malthus’ concerns have undergirded the social and policy decisions that have shaped our current world.

Biological Reproductive Clocks and Freezing Eggs and Sperm

On my science and technology YouTube channel, I am trying to forge a path as a science influencer. As often as I can, I create content on novel science topics. Something that’s flying under the radar for much of our population, particularly the older generations, is the reproduction of the population described above. Some of the Baby Boomers are seeing younger people not pairing up and reproducing the way they did and are scratching their heads. Again in 2023 it is not a forgone conclusion that everyone will reproduce or wants to do so today.

A dynamic that has emerged is that of waiting until the right time in life to reproduce due to career or personal preference. This dynamic has brought to the forefront the principles of biological reproductive clocks and freezing eggs and sperm. Below are three livestreams I created on my science and technology YouTube channel. The first involves the science of freezing eggs. The second looks at the flipside and discusses men’s biological clocks and the potential need to freeze sperm. I did not cover it in my live stream but according to an article from Forbes, the cost to freeze sperm can range from $250 to $775, and costs of storage can range from $100 to $500 per year. As a bonus, I am going to also embed my video discuss increased vasectomies among younger men as an unintended consequence of the Supreme Court’s ruling on Roe vs Wade.

“There’s TOO many men, TOO many people, causing TOO many problems, and not much logic around!” Just as I finished this piece, I heard Phil Collins’ iconic lyrics from the 1980s song, Land of Confusion performed by Genesis in my head. Along with men like the late great Carl Sagan, Phil must have seen the future. I think these lyrics are also an appropriate way to end this piece.

I have also started a newsletter. The information is below the three embedded videos below. Please consider signing up. By the way if you watch any of the videos, please hit the like button and consider subscribing to either of the two channels.

Start A Business Distributing Third-Party Products With These Tips

Two focuses of my blog are Financial Literacy/Money and Business/Entrepreneurship. A potential lucrative business distributing third-party products. The following contributed post is entitled, Start A Business Distributing Third-Party Products With These Tips.

There are many different ways to start a business in 2023. When launching a home-based company or other SME, the prospect of being a distributor of another company’s products is very attractive. It saves you the hassle and costs linked to R&D while you can also leverage success from the brand name.

When taking this business route, you must still need to complete standard business processes. Likewise, you must develop a strategy that will allow you to thrive under this type of business model. Focus on the four steps below, and you won’t go far wrong.

Find A Product You Love

If you are planning to sell and distribute another company’s products, it’s vital that you feel passionate about them. In fact, you need to feel as strongly about the items as you would your own innovations. Otherwise, your sales techniques will fall short and lead to low conversion rates.

Products that make a genuine difference in the end user’s life are a great option. Blushield distributors, for example, play a key role in protecting people against the radiation of 5G signals. As consumers become increasingly aware of the issues, this can open the door to a plethora of selling opportunities.

Listen To The Consumer

When you opt for a product that you love, it means that you would fall into the target audience. Therefore, you should find it easier to put yourself in their shoes. However, it’s still necessary to develop your active listening skills. It will enable you to adapt your sales technique to get the sale over the line,

This guide to showing potential clients that your business can solve their problems will help you maximize your returns. In addition to listening to individual consumers, you can use a range of data to analzye trends. In turn, data-driven decisions will enable you to keep moving in the right direction.

Understand Marketing

Human interactions, face-to-face or through modern tech, will get sales over the line. Still, you will not gain any sales if nobody knows of your existence. As a distributor of third-party goods, you are not only in competition with other products. You’re also competing against the other distributors as they want to tap into the audience.

Therefore, building brand awareness and getting consumers to request more info is vital. Learning to use video marketing, social media marketing, and engaging tactics will help. Meanwhile, setting up a store on third-party channels like eBay, Amazon, or Etsy may also allow you to land more sales.

Build A Passionate Team

Finally, it’s important to remember that you won’t be the only person responsible for trying to sell the goods. As such, finding the right employees to drive your company to success is vital. RingCentral VoIP services can keep the team united even when you aren’t in the same location. Perhaps due to running a home-based venture.

Crucially, all sales teams must share your enthusiasm. Likewise, customer care agents must love their job of supporting people. When combined with teams that think out of the box to give more value to the end user, you will see more sales. And when combined with the significantly reduced risks, sustained success can follow.

Top Tips For Finding Your Calling

“You must be prepared for some trial and error when seeking out your calling.”

Two focuses of my blog are Creating Ecosystems of Success and Health/Wellness. One of the most fulfilling and important things you can do is to find your calling. Depending on your trajectory it may not be easy though to make it your fulltime endeavour. The following contributed post is entitled, Top Tips For Finding Your Calling.

* * *

According to a recent study, only 1 in 10 Americans says they’re working their dream job. There are many reasons for this. Firstly, there are a range of different barriers you may face when it comes to carving out a career path in your ideal industry. For example, you may find it hard to get your foot in the door or make meaningful connections.

Photo by Cytonn Photography on Unsplash

However, many people are unsure of what their dream job actually is. This doesn’t mean there isn’t a ‘perfect’ position out there for them; they simply need to identify their calling.

With that in mind, here are some top tips that you can use to find your professional calling.

Figure out your passion

One of the easiest ways to figure out what kind of career is right for you is to figure out what you are passionate about. Once you’ve identified these passions, you can begin to explore related careers.

As such, it’s crucial that you view your hobbies as more than a way to relax after a long week and instead view them as potential career opportunities. For example, if you’ve always had a passion related to arts & crafts, your calling may lie in the creative fields. This means you could pursue a career as an artist or graphic designer.

Seek out inspiration

If you aren’t sure which path you’d like to follow when choosing a career, it’s important that you seek out inspiration from others. For example, Troy Thompson often argues that those who are unsure of what step to take next on the path to success (or financial stability) should consider a career within the armed forces. This is because it enables you to develop a range of skills that you can carry with you into later life, such as resilience and self-confidence.

Alternatively, you may want to speak to a careers advisor who can provide you with advice and guidance moving forward. After all, they’ll be able to note down your current qualifications and skills, alongside your interests and passions, and help you figure out what kind of career you are best suited for.

Be prepared for trial and error

Unfortunately, it’s unlikely that the first job you land will be your dream job. This is because you often have to develop specific skills and expertise to obtain more senior or established roles. Furthermore, you may begin working in a specific industry only to realize later it’s not how you imagined it to be. As a result of this, you must be prepared for some trial and error when seeking out your calling.

While this can be disheartening, especially if you’ve always had a very specific career in mind, it’s important to note that in time, you’ll find your calling – and once you’ve done so, you’ll be thankful for the journey.

Furthermore, there’s no shame in your calling changing over time. After all, we’re constantly changing and evolving, so it only makes sense for our careers or callings to change alongside us!

Party Time: The Ultimate Guide To Planning Your Child’s Birthday

A key focus of my blog is Health/Wellness. If you have children you will host birthday parties or you will have hosted birthday parties. Not everyone hosts good parties. The following contributed post is entitled, Party Time: The Ultimate Guide To Planning Your Child’s Birthday.

Pixabay

Planning a child’s birthday party can feel like organizing a military operation. There’s lots to think about when it comes to creating an event that everyone will love. The earlier you start planning your party, the easier it will be to bring it all together.

If your child’s birthday is coming up and you’re thinking about doing a party, it’s a good idea to think about everything that’s involved. Here’s what you need to know.

Date and Invites

The first thing you need to do is set a date for your party. Once you have a date in mind, you can look at available venues and then book somewhere that suits your needs. When you have a definite date, you can start to send out invitations.

Doing this early will give people the chance to save the date and RSVP. When you receive RSVPs you’ll have a good idea of the number of people planning to attend which will help you plan all other aspects of the party.

Choose Activities

This is a great opportunity to plan activities you know your child will love. Whether it’s a bouncy castle, a visit from your child’s favorite superhero, or even making the most of birthday parties Lazerport, everything makes a memory. Knowing your child as well as you do, it should be easy to choose things you know he’ll love.

However, popular activities tend to get booked up quickly, so you’ll need to book your date in as soon as possible.

Party Entertainers

If you’re worrying about keeping a large group of young children entertained, rest assured you don’t have to do it on your own. Fortunately, there are many children’s entertainers that provide everything from music to shows and even food options. It can help to hire an entertainer that brings the whole package with them.

Getting everything done in one place will help you to avoid having to be ultra organized hiring several different companies.

Party Time

The time of your party is more important than you may think. For instance, if you’re hosting a party for children under the age of six, it can help to remember that they often get tired in the afternoon. If you don’t want a bunch of overtired youngsters running around, it’s best to stick to the morning or early afternoon.

Many people tend to have children’s parties between the hours of 11am and 2pm. This ensures children are hungry if you’re planning on serving a meal. It also means families have the rest of the day to do other things together.

Party Bags

Last but not least- don’t forget the party bags. Party bags are a great way to say thank you for coming. What you put inside the party bags should be age dependent so there are no choking hazards for young children. Don’t forget to add a slice of the birthday cake!

If you’ve found this article helpful, take a look at the rest.

How To Love Your Home

Two focuses of my blog are Home/Living Discussions and Home/Property Discussions. Once you purchase your home, you want to love it and make it yours. The following contributed post is entitled, How To Love Your Home.

* * *

Not in love with your home? Then something is wrong. It takes a considerable amount of time, energy, and money to buy a property, and, as such, it’s reasonable to have high expectations of what you’ll get from it. Nobody should take the long journey towards becoming a homeowner, only to end up merely liking their house. And if they actively dislike it? Then that’s another level altogether.

If you don’t currently love your property, then fear not. There are things you can do that’ll help to push your feelings in the right direction, as we’ll see below.

Pexels – CC0 Licence

Make it Homey

You won’t love your home if it feels like it’s a stranger’s house. One of the joys of having your own home is that you get to put your own stamp on things, and in the process, you’ll feel more at ease. It’ll feel like your own little corner of the planet, which is exactly what it should feel like. Some simple ways to increase the coziness levels of your property include investing in your bedroom to make it extra comfortable, hanging personal memories on the wall, and getting the perfect living room setup.

Touches of Joy

Love is a feeling, but it’s also an activity. If you love what you do, see, and feel in your house, then you’ll love being there — it’s as simple as that. So look at adding some touches of joy to your property. There’s no shortage of things you can do. You can take the time to put together an awesome backyard, one that allows you to sink into many hours of relaxation and fun with your loved ones. Or you could create a special room in the house where you engage in your favorite hobbies. It’ll look different for every person. Figure out what would bring some joy into your house, and make it happen.

Handle Issues Immediately

You might broadly like your home, but if it has too many issues and problems, then it won’t be long before you begin to think slightly differently about your home. No one likes to live in a house that has a long list of minor or major issues. The way to prevent this is to handle issues as soon as possible. For example, if you notice a leak, even a small one, call the plumbers immediately; if you don’t, then you’ll only have to deal with a more serious issue further down the line. Also, while there are some DIY tasks you can handle yourself, remember that in many cases, it’s best to leave the work to the experts.

Get To Know Your Neighbors

Finally, remember that you’ll like living in your home much more if you have a sense of community. This sometimes happens on its own, but in most cases, you need to make it happen. So, get to know your neighbors! Having the ability to say hi to people who live near you may sound small, but it makes a big difference.

The Flash Movie: The Dying Business Of Making Superhero Movies

“In short both studios need to strip everything down and get back to the business of telling elemental stories of good and evil independent of social and political narratives.”

The Dying Business of Making Superhero Movies

I initially started the Big Words Blog Site to continue my writing journey. I started a second blog entitled, Big Words Authors where I created a page for my book project The Engineers: A Western New York Basketball Story. Here on the Big Words Blog Site, I now publish lots of guest content on numerous topics. The original writings on this site were my own personal stories and thoughts. Some of those writings involved money, business and in some instances movie reviews. Some of those reviews were superhero and science fiction movies. This short offering will involve all three and discuss the seemingly dying business of making superhero movies. It will focus on DC-Warner Bros and Marvel-Disney. It will specifically focus on The Flash Movie which is performing horribly in movie theaters. I wrote a similar piece in tandem on Big Words Authors.

Franchises Falling on Hard Times

Both franchises/studios have fallen on hard times for one reason or the other and fan support is waning. Marvel-Disney created masterpieces with phases one through three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). They unfortunately forgot what made them successful or decided to depart from it altogether. They did this by demasculinizing the MCU and flooding it with stories no one cared about.

DC-Warner Bros repeatedly shot themselves in the foot trying to keep up with Marvel-Disney. The executives at DC-Warner Bros ultimately ruined a golden opportunity to create a string of Justice League movies with DC’s pantheon of heroes and villains. The latest failure from DC-Warner Bros seems to be The Flash Movie for numerous reasons. I created the videos below on my entertainment and media YouTube channel on the movie. The first captures my enthusiasm leading up to opening day. The second is my reaction to The Flash Movie and thoughts on why the fan enthusiasm and support were paltry.

Getting Back To Making Quality Movies

In short both studios need to strip everything down and get back to the business of telling elemental stories of good and evil independent of social and political narratives. Making movies is a business for the movie makers and entertainment for the paying audience. In a free-market capitalist economy, the customers ultimately choose what they will and won’t spend their money on. Paying customers are likewise the x-factor in determining whether a movie is a success or failure. These large movie studios need to thus be mindful of what the customers want.

According to two articles from Cinema Blend, The Flash Movie made $55 million on its opening weekend and then experienced a 73% drop in its second weekend, earning only $15. I discuss the reasons the movie is underperforming in the second of two videos embedded below from my entertainment and media YouTube channel. Please look at them if you have a moment. Again, the first video captures my excitement leading up to the movie and the second video captures my reaction. Thank you for reading this blog post and also please consider joining my newsletter. The details are below the embedded videos.

The Advantages of White Label SEO – What You Need to Know

Three focuses of my blog are Financial Literacy/Money, Business/Entrepreneurship and Technology. One of the keys running a business today is optimizing your online presence. One thing to consider is White Label SEO. The following sponsored post is entitled, The Advantages of White Label SEO – What You Need to Know.

* * *

If you’re an agency or business looking to add search engine optimization to your list of marketing services, consider working with a white-label SEO partner.

Outsourcing to a reputable SEO firm can give you the competitive edge you need in one of the most important areas of digital marketing. Here are some of the biggest advantages:

More Time to Focus on Your Core Business

When you work with a white-label SEO agency, you outsource your search engine optimization needs to an expert third party. That allows you to save time and focus on your core business while providing your clients with the best possible service.

Reputable white label SEO companies provide the tools and expertise to create winning proposals, engage targeted audiences, and optimize your online presence for optimal results. They’ll also keep up with emerging trends and technology that allow them to adjust their strategies accordingly.

Ensure the white-label SEO partner you choose has a strong track record and is financially sound before signing the dotted line. This will ensure they’ll be around to support you three, five, and ten years from now. They should also be able to provide you with case studies of their past successes so you can see for yourself that they know what they’re doing.

Increased Revenue

White-label SEO is one of the best ways to bring in additional revenue for your business. It lets you offer proven SEO services to clients without investing time and money into staffing a new department and training your team.

However, it’s important to work with a reputable white-label SEO provider that prioritizes communication and transparency. If your agency doesn’t value these qualities, it may use risky strategies that could backfire in the long run.

By working with a trusted white-label SEO agency, you can rest assured that your clients will get the best services possible. They will have a team of professionals to help with everything from keyword research to visibility expansion. Plus, they’ll be able to answer your client’s questions in real-time. This means they’ll be more satisfied and likely to recommend your services to others.

Less Stress

White-label SEO providers will be responsible for building and managing your client campaigns. This means you won’t have to worry about juggling other projects, meeting deadlines, or completing all the necessary tasks to ensure your clients get the best results.

With a white-label SEO provider, you’ll also be able to leverage their expertise and experience to grow your agency by upselling or cross-selling. Clients want their agencies to be one-stop shops, so if you can provide them with additional solutions, you’ll likely see an increase in retention rates.

Finally, when you use a white-label SEO provider, you’ll get access to enterprise-level tools that you may not have the budget for otherwise. This can help you get the results your clients seek and even give you an edge over your competitors. SEO strategies are always changing, and a good white-label SEO agency will keep up with these changes so that you don’t have to.

Higher ROI

White-label SEO allows media companies to add revenue streams without requiring a large upfront investment. This can be especially important for a business looking to maintain competition and profitability in an increasingly digital landscape.

Learning technical knowledge can take valuable time away from other aspects of your agency’s operations. This is especially true if you juggle multiple client deliverables and manage fulfillment.

A white-label provider can give your agency access to expertise you may need more time or resources to develop in-house. The right provider will understand your clients and offer strategies that align with your branding.

When choosing a white-label partner, look for an experienced company that offers a competitive pricing model and is currently on the latest search engine algorithms. This will help ensure a high return on your investment and allow you to grow your agency.
