Following a Passion And Making Money From It

Three of the focuses of my blog are Career Discussions, Financial Literacy/Money, and Business/Entrepreneurship. Many employees eventually get to a point where they have to weigh staying in their career versus pursuing their passion. If one is to pursue their passion full-time, the economics have to be thought out. The following contributed post is entitled, Following a Passion And Making Money From It.

Following a passion can be a risky move for a lot of people. This is what causes most to avoid embracing their dream, and instead, staying in their current position. Despite this, there are success stories when it comes to following a passion, which is why people continue to do so.

However, you can’t just chase your passion because you’re tired of your current job. It doesn’t work like that. You also need to put in a lot of effort and energy with plenty of planning and dedication to ensure that you understand what you are getting into. To ensure you can make this possible, these are the tips you need to remember.

Have a Plan

Having a plan before starting anything is always recommended, so it doesn’t matter if you’re starting an East Coast Wings & Grill Franchise to get some business-ownership experience or quitting your job to create art full-time, you need to understand every step from the first day to the last.

Making plans is not fun, and it can be tricky to make a proper plan without any experience. However, knowing where you want to be in a year, five years, or ten years will help you deal with each stage of the process.

Have Patience

Making money by following a passion is not something that will happen overnight, and even those who seem to sprout up out of nowhere and become famous instantly still put in plenty of work to get them to where they are.

It’s vital to keep this in mind when following a passion. You may expect to hit the heights immediately, but the reality is that it could take weeks, months, or even years before you start to reap the benefits.

Expect Challenges

There will be challenges every minute of every day when you are following your passion and trying to make money from it. You will face people who don’t believe in you; you will have times where you are told you can’t do this, by both friends and industry experts. However, if you really care about making this a success, it’s vital to keep going.

Put Enough Into It

You cannot achieve your dream half-heartedly, and if you want to make something of yourself by following your passion, you need to put enough into it that you find the success you crave.

This means plenty of hours working out your next steps. It means ensuring that everything you submit and propose is perfect. It means sacrificing hanging out with friends and even saving money to help you launch your business when it is finally ready.

Transforming a Hobby Into Something More

Many people dream of doing something with their hobby and making money from it, but there’s a reason that not everyone is successful in doing so. Following your passion takes guts and dedication, so if you feel like you have what it takes to make these changes in your life, remember these essential tips for following a passion and making money from it.

Bringing The Aesthetic Of Professionalism Into The Office

Two of the focuses of my blog are Financial Literacy/Money and Business/Entrepreneurship. If your business is operating in an office setting, you want a high level of professionalism. Running your office at peak professionalism will not only increase the effectiveness of your staff, but it will also increase the confidence of your consumer base. The following contributed post is entitled, Bringing The Aesthetic Of Professionalism Into The Office.

* * *

When running a business, it soon becomes clear just how important image is. There’s the impact of the brand on your clients and customers, but there’s also how aesthetic and setting affects your team. If your workplace exudes professionalism, then people tend to act like competent capable professionals in it. If it looks like it’s been hit by a bomb, then that can influence them in the other way.

Keep it clean
It might sound like an obvious tip, but you might be surprised how much work it takes to keep an office truly clean and how easily those standards can start to slip. Working with a professional cleaning team can ensure that every surface, every material, and every window is cleaned so you can feel confident about inviting anyone into the workplace. Plus, if you take better care of the environment that your employees spend their time in, then they will also feel more cared for as a result.

Have plenty of storage
If you don’t afford your team the storage they need, be it desk organizers, filing cabinets, drawers, or whatever they need, then you are quickly to find that all the paper in the office is very hard to contain. Of course, you can go paperless to cut down on both storage and paper waste, but most offices aren’t yet ready to fully convert to a paper-free organization style.

Make the walls look neat and orderly
You don’t have to go boring and colorless throughout the office to make it look professional. However, if your space is a little haphazard, then finding a common visual element to unify it all the way through can make it look a lot more organized. For instance, installing concrete cladding all over the walls can help make it feel a lot more consistent. Consistency is important in branding and image.

Have it laid out into different work zones
Employees should have different spaces they can access for different kinds of work. This can include spaces that are more closed off and offer some privacy, as well as spaces that are more open and allow for communication. As such, you help your workers become much more efficient, and the business looks a lot more organized than if you simply had a cubicle crush.

Set a real welcome
A receptionist desk works wonders not only for the clients and guests that come to the office but also as a welcoming sight for the team, as well. The workplace isn’t a home, but that welcome can be important in helping your employees feel a sense of belonging. Of course, it should be manned by the right receptionist, too, someone who’s happy, witty, and able to operate on the go.

The tips above can help you sharpen up the office’s image which, in turn, can help sharpen up your team, too. Of course, the workplace is far from the only thing that influences the conduct of your team, but it can have a more profound effect than you might initially think.

Ways You Can Keep Your Business Running Smoothly

Two of the focuses of my blog are Financial Literacy/Money and Business/Entrepreneurship. If you’re running a business, you’ll want your operations to running seamlessly and efficiently. Some things will vary by the type of business, but some aspects are universal. The following contributed post is entitled, Ways You Can Keep Your Business Running Smoothly.

* * *

Running a business can sometimes be hard work, a lot of time has to go into it and it can be easy to fall behind and soon have your business run less efficiently than it should be. It’s essential if you own a business to make sure it is running smoothly and correctly and to do this there are some simple steps you can take.

Let’s have a look at some of the things you should be keeping on top of when running your business:

Your Finances

It’s important for any business to keep on top of their finances. It’s one of the most important areas to focus on. You need to know and track what’s coming in and what’s going out, and not just focus on profits. Your profits aren’t a true representation of how your business is doing, you also need to look at your running costs to get the ‘real’ figure. Using tools like QuickBooks Online Accounting Software can help you to keep everything in line and order.

Your Emails

You should always make sure that your emails are in order and processed quickly. If you don’t you could be missing out on opportunities, paying invoices, collecting invoice, customer complaints etc. It’s a good idea to set some time each week to go through all your emails and decided what needs to be done with them. Can they be deleted? Do they need a response? Is there now an action you need to take before you can say it’s been handled? Doing this will mean that your business can run smoothly and you won’t have any nasty surprises or apologising to do when you ‘eventually’ get to them at the end of the month.

Your Office

If you want to have a smooth-running business, then you need to have a clean, organised space to work in. Whether you run your business from a home office or has several employees in a large office space it is essential that you have a good clean office space policy. It’s a good idea to show and explain the expectation down to your employees too. Having everyone work to the same standard will ensure that your office space is kept organised and running well.

Your Employees

Your employees are key to making sure your business runs smoothly. Make sure you are providing a good working environment, are rewarding them and showing your appreciation for their hard work. Happy employees are productive employees so looking after them will always make your business run better. You also need to make sure that you provide an employee handbook for your employees with a detailed job specification. This way your staff will always know what is expected and understand their role.

These four areas are key areas to have organised and running smoothly in order to keep your business running as it should. Do you have any other areas that should be focused on that you keep on top of in your business? Please share them in the comments below.

6 Things to Consider Before Starting a Manufacturing Business

“Starting up a new manufacturing business is a big decision to make. Whether you’re new to the world of entrepreneurship or you’ve been working as a company owner for many years, there are still many risks to weigh up.”

Two of the focuses of my blog are Financial Literacy/Money and Business/Entrepreneurship. Manufacturing businesses can be lucrative if run properly. There are keys to running a lucrative manufacturing business. The following contributed post is entitled, 6 Things to Consider Before Starting a Manufacturing Business.

Starting up a new manufacturing business is a big decision to make. Whether you’re new to the world of entrepreneurship or you’ve been working as a company owner for many years, there are still many risks to weigh up. Your new manufacturing business will only thrive if you have taken note of all these important factors. Putting the correct plans in place before you launch will increase the chances of your business becoming a successful venture. Here are some of the most important things to consider right now.

1.Equipment

Before you jump into any decisions regarding your new manufacturing business, you need to consider what type of equipment you will need to get up and running. Making a rough list in the initial stages of planning will really help you to assess your finances. From Cooling Towers to machinery all manufacturing companies are completely different so it depends on the type of industry you’re going into.

2. A Gap in the Market

Next you need to assess whether there is demand for your product. This will require plenty of market research and an in depth understanding of your ideal client. As soon as you are reassured that there are people out there who would buy from you, you can carry onto the next phase.

3. Finances

Starting a manufacturing company is going to be expensive, so make sure you have enough startup capital to get you off the ground. You may also need to pay and hire experts to advise you on the products you manufacture so be sure to keep this in mind. If you aren’t in the right place financially before you begin, you may want to rethink your venture for now and return when you have the capital behind you.

4. Competitor Research

Knowing who is currently in your industry can give you a huge head start when it comes to your business. Although you shouldn’t solely focus on your competitors it can’t hurt to keep an eye on what they’re doing and emulate their successful strategies.

5. Your Knowledge and Experience

Do you know enough about your industry to go into manufacturing alone? You may need to hone in on your area of expertise and hire other people who can plug the gaps in your knowledge. When hiring staff make sure you’re confident that they fulfill the criteria for the job description and carry out thorough interviews too.

You do not need to know absolutely everything about manufacturing, yourself, of course. If there are specialist product touches that you want to add to products, such as powder coating work, then outsourcing them can be a valid approach as well. Finding partners who can help you put the finishing touches on the bulk work you complete can help you stay agile while still having access to advanced techniques when you need them.

6. Potential Locations

Choosing the best location for your manufacturing business is so important. It needs to be accessible, affordable and close to your target audience and business associates too. It will always be difficult finding a balance between all three, but it is certainly doable.

All in all, you want to make sure that you are making the right decisions when it comes to your new manufacturing business. Knowing that people are going to buy your products, having your finances aligned and investigating any other necessary factors will ensure that your new manufacturing business is a roaring success.

Make the Outside of your House Reflect Your Mind

A key focus of my blog is Financial Literacy/Money. Owning a home comes with lots of responsibilities and considerations. Home ownership not just about owning the asset, but also taking care of it and its appearance. The following contributed post is entitled, Make the Outside of your House Reflect Your Mind.

* * *

Your mind can be clogged due to many different factors in life. From study stress, to stress related to parenting and job stress. Everything links together and one of the main things that leads to clogging of the mind, it comes down to the home. If the house is not clear, especially the outside space, then this can have a negative impact on the mind. These are a few tips on how sprucing the outside of your home may help your mental wellbeing.

Do not Forget to give the Outside some Love

The outside of your house is a huge part of the house that you need to remember to focus on. It is the first part of the house you see when you first pull up or walk up to the door. If you see a dark or miserable looking front of the house, then your mood will automatically fit to the mood of the house. Pull up to a colourful and updated happy front, then hey presto just like that you are in a great mood! Also, try some tech, from lights and more. Things like water screens, which are not the best for a normal garden, but similar mechanisms can be very cool to have in a garden, setting it apart from the rest.

All of these things can provide comfort and also exercise for your mind, seeing the end result in your head and then working towards creating that dream into a reality. This is especially amazing in the Summer months when the sun is shining.

Can this be done by Myself?

This is a personal choice. If you have an idea of what you want to do, and it seems like something you could do yourself, then of course! Gardening can be something fun for all the family to do, and it gets your hands dirty and messy and is just a fun activity. However, sometimes some plans or structures require professional assistance, so if this sounds like you then you would need to hire someone to do it for you. It is easy to find people, with the internet you should be able to find someone for an affordable price to come and help you!

What is the Best Solution if I Have Children?

This a big question. With children, you do not want delicate flowers and plants, well not all over the garden. It is best to stick to the lawn, as this is easy to maintain and it is very child-friendly. Another alternative could be fake grass, or terf. This is even easier to maintain, as it is fake means no risk of killing it or damaging it with outdoor play equipment like a play structure, slide and more.

There you have it! Mental wellbeing is a fragile but important thing for anyone, so keeping it in check and working ok should be one of your top priorities, as life can always throw lemons but they can always make lemonade!

So, if you go ahead and try some of these tips, good luck!

How to Use Social Media to Build Your Brand

Three of the focuses of my blog are Financial Literacy/Money, Business/Entrepreneurship and Technology. Most businesses today need a strategy for building their brand via social media. Social media has changed the game in that it has created an abundance of markets separate from traditional media. The following guest post is entitled, How to Use Social Media to Build Your Brand.

* * *

Social media is about sharing thoughts, establishing an online presence, and building a network. Given these factors, marketing professionals realized how they can use it as leverage. In fact, it helped brands build their digital presence in a social space, and the bulk of online purchases were attributed to social influence. Most consumers will agree that user-generated content can influence buyer behavior.

Many companies adopt this strategy since social media is key to a successful brand campaign. In cities such as Brisbane, SEO services and social media marketing doubled in demand. However, the social media climate is harsh, and business owners should be aware of this. Creating engaging online campaigns can be a disaster without proper research and planning. Here are some pointers on how to utilize social media for brand-building:

Be bold with ideas

Burger King launched a unique and controversial online campaign for its customers: delete ten of your friends to receive a free Whopper. To their surprise: 240,000 people were unfriended by people who wanted something free in return. Each customer who took up the challenge received a receipt after participating in Burger King stores. Their unconventional strategy, “Whopper Sacrifice,” was the Grand Winner at the 2009 Clio Awards. When you’re willing to take risks and push the envelope, you’ll reap the rewards. Be bold with your ideas and don’t hesitate to push the envelope; it will pay off.

Use social media interests and hashtags

MTV, the music video pioneer, utilized social media to boost the 2012 Video Music Awards. Six-second videos were aired on different social media platforms to announce the nominees for Best Female Video, Best Male Video, and Video of the Year. Fans were treated to an exclusive glimpse of the Moon Man’s trip from LA to New York by using the #RoadtotheVMAs on Twitter. The Road to the VMAs 2012 became the second most talked about social buzz to date. Using social media interests and hashtags helps get the word across the online space.

Take over a social space to pick people’s interests

Uniqlo, a Japan-based clothing company, created a simultaneous pinning event on Pinterest. As users scrolled across the brand’s page, big blocks of pinned images (shirts, jeans, jackets) formed Uniqlo’s brand mosaic. Their products were animated in real time, which gave people a glimpse of what their brand had to offer. Taking over a social space and allowing people to participate in a synchronized online event helps a company introduce its brand to an untapped market. Brands should work with different social media platforms to engage people and wake them up from their digital slumber.

In the end, these are just some examples of how social media can help your brand increase its revenue and build its name. Social media is an effective tool in building a brand while increasing its online revenues. Digital platforms are perfect marketing mediums: no restrictions and barriers. Armed with good strategies and creativity, social media is an effective tool to build your brand’s name online.

Are You Keeping Your Business Safe

Two of the focuses of my blog are Financial Literacy/Money and Business/Entrepreneurship. As a business owner one of your primary considerations should be your business’s safety. There are numerous contexts for this. The following contributed post is entitled, Are You Keeping Your Business Safe.

* * *

There are a lot of things that are important to your business. That shouldn’t really come as much of a surprise, after all, a business is made up of many different elements all working together, so it’s only natural that certain things will require slightly more dedicated focus. The issue that a surprisingly large number of businesses run into is that they tend to focus on some aspects to the detriment of others. Things like marketing and customer service are, of course, incredibly important, but they are also right at the forefront of your business which means it’s rather common for them to take precedent over other things. But there are some parts of your business which are incredibly important and yet are all too often ignored. One of the most common of these is making sure that your business is actually protected. The safety and security of your business and all of the people within in it should always be a major priority for you as a business owner. Here are some ways that you can make sure that your business is as well protected as possible.

Security measures

You should always make sure that any security measures to your business are kept up to date at all times. This counts for both physical and digital security systems. Your locks should be kept sturdy and you the firewalls to your databases should be regularly updated. If you’re not paying attention to these things, then you’re leaving your business extremely vulnerable.

The right equipment

One of the most important things that you can do in order to make sure that your workplace is the safest environment possible is to ensure that it is properly equipped at all times. This means everything from railings in your warehouse to a fire damper to making sure that there is never too much power going to a single place that could cause it to overload or short. These kinds of things are the fundamentals of safety in your workplace and you need to be sure that you’re focusing on them from the very start.

Health and safety

Health and safety isn’t just the annoying bureaucracy that so many people seem to think that it is. In reality, health and safety procedures are in place to protect people and to save lives. You need to make sure that your business’s health and safety policies are all up to date and that every single employee receives adequate training to ensure that they are as always safe as possible.

All of the procedures, equipment, and insurance in the world aren’t going to make the slightest bit of difference if you can’t encourage your employees to embrace the importance of safety and security. By creating a culture within your company of understanding the importance of the security measures that are put in place, you can be sure that your employees are always working alongside those security measures to keep your business as protected as physically possible.

What Can You Buy With Bitcoin?

A key focus of my blog is Financial Literacy/Money. Cryptocurrencies are now a force to be reckoned with in the financial world and have the attention of both world governments and citizens. Bitcoin started off as a speculative investment for building wealth, but can it be used in business transactions? The following contributed post is entitled, What Can You Buy With Bitcoin?

* * *

There is still a weird assumption around bitcoin. It’s because you can’t physically touch it, the people still think they are worthless, and that no one buys them. But we should all remember when bitcoin was very first available, many many retailers jumped on the bandwagon and accepted them. Since then there has been a decline, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t spend your bitcoins, mining, and use them elsewhere.

Photo by Dmitry Demidko on Unsplash

Bitcoins and Blockchain can be used in so many different industries, for example, blockchain is helping supply chains-and if that sounds like something you’re interested in you should follow the link to find out more. And if you want to get a deeper feel for how blockchain and bitcoin work then check here.

So if you are considering buying bitcoin, or working out where you can spend yours-that this is a great list of songs in places.

Real Estate

In general, the goods that you can buy with bitcoin might be considered quite luxurious. This also means that you are telling your bitcoins into long-term investments. The standard housing market is not the place where you would look to spend your bitcoin though. You’ll actually be looking at luxury real estate. In fact, there is a company called the bitcoin realist date, which allows you to buy and sell the property directly in bitcoins. It also has a huge range of worldwide features that can be purchased, so you won’t be looking only local.

Travel

There are still many places that will accept bitcoin as payment for booking flights, hotels, and so much more. You can check at BTCT trip for somewhere that is exclusively designed to take payments in bitcoin. Of course, there are others available, and well done you said you might notice Expedia has bitcoin terms and conditions on the website. However, they stopped accepting bitcoin payments in June 2018. Here are a few alternatives:

● Travel for coins
● Cheapair
● Virgin Galactic-if you feel like going into space
● ABITSKY
● Future.travel
● Gold and silver

If you feel like turning your bitcoins into real money and investing it well, then purchasing gold and silver is the ideal thing for you. There are plenty of companies that will accept bitcoin as a payment option. It is also worth noting that some companies can offer their own native bitcoins too. Ampex is one of the companies that will be happy to trade goals for bitcoins or bitcoin cash. You will have to make sure that your bitcoin wallet is compatible with their payment system though. In most cases, any of these transactions will take 15 minutes or less. The reason it will be so quick is because of the fluctuation of bitcoin price. And there might be a price limit on what you can spend. Bitcoin can often no longer be accepted as a payment amount once you hit a specific dollar amount.

Gram gold has a particular process in which it can purchase 1 g of investment-grade gold, and receive a smart contract as proof of asset. Which is a very interesting way of acquiring crypto gold.

You could also check at Jm Bullion, this is another great place you can purchase gold, platinum, silver and even Palladium with bitcoin. And you get a nice 4% discount when you pay with bitcoin too.

How To Manage Your Money After Losing Your Job

A key focus of my blog is Financial Literacy/Money. All of us face the potential of loss. The question is are you prepared for it. When your income stops, you have to figure out how to adjust until you can resume it. The following contributed post is entitled, How To Manage Your Money After Losing Your Job.

* * *

Losing your job is always difficult because you are thrown in at the deep end with no idea how long it will take you to find work again. Managing your finances properly is so important when you are out of work because if you don’t, you will end up borrowing money and getting yourself into a lot of debt. But as long as you follow these simple rules, you can maintain financial security until you are able to find work again.

Pixabay CCO License

Assess Your Finances

The first thing that you need to do is assess your finances so you know exactly where you are. Take a look at all of your accounts and work out exactly how much money you have. Then you need to look at all of your outgoing expenses, no matter how small. This will give you a good idea of how long you can survive on the money that you have.

Claim Financial Assistance

There are places that offer financial assistance which can be a huge help in this situation. If you are out of work due to an accident, for example, you should speak to an attorney who can determine how much your case is worth and help you to make a claim. That financial assistance will help you to stay afloat until you are able to find work again. You should also see whether you qualify for any government assistance.

Review Your Budget

The next step is to review your budget so the money that you have goes further. When you are out of work, you cannot afford to continue with your current lifestyle and you need to make some cutbacks. Look at things like streaming subscriptions or gym memberships, for example, which you can cancel. Small purchases, like buying lunch every day, can also be cut out of your budget. You do not need to make any major changes to save a lot of money, and it will take the pressure off.

Negotiate Payment Plans

If you have any credit card debts to pay off, you need to get in touch with the credit card company right away. Explain your situation to them and see whether they are willing to offer you a payment plan. In many cases, they will accommodate you and reduce your monthly payments a little. This will make things a lot easier for you until you can find a new job.

Manage Your Mental Health

When your financial situation is fragile, that can cause a lot of stress and may lead to mental health issues. It is so important that you find ways to protect your mental health and reduce your stress levels. Poor mental health has been linked to bad money management and impaired decision making abilities. That means that if your mental health is not good, you will find it a lot harder to stay on top of your finances.

If you follow this advice, you can remain financially independent when you are out of work and you will not need to rely on borrowing.

The Slickest Dental Clinics All Have These Habits In Common

Two of the focuses of my blog are Financial Literacy/Money and Business/Entrepreneurship. The quality of a dental practice lies not just in the quality of the dentists, but also in the total operation. The successful practices all do the same key things well. The following contributed post is entitled, The Slickest Dental Clinics All Have These Habits In Common.

* * *

Pixabay – CC0 License

Dental clinics are businesses, just like anything else. And for that reason, they need to take their processes seriously. Unfortunately, that is only something that a small minority actually do.

If you’re not particularly happy with the amount of money you are turning over at your practice, you’re not alone. It is something that thousands of dentists struggle with every week. Their background is in medical training, not entrepreneurship. Making the shift can be tough.

There are, however, some success stories. Here’s how the slickest dental clinics generate massive revenues.

They Account For Every Dime

All good business leaders know that the best way to turn a profit is to count expenses. But keeping track of where your clinic is spending its money isn’t always easy, especially if you try to do it by hand.

Here’s the good news: you can now track expenses using software. Better yet, you can pay local professionals to do it for you. You just send them your receipts, and they deal with the whole lot.

They Always Outsource

Pixabay – CC0 License

Some dental clinics want to do everything themselves, including making all their own prosthetics—bad idea. Trying to be all things to all people never works in business.

Outsourcing to a third-party dental lab is much more convenient. Here you send them your requirements for prosthetics, and they get on with actually making them. Invariably, it works out as being much more cost-effective.

They Locate In Convenient Places

Unlike many businesses, dental practices have a lot of scope for where they locate. Many find spots well outside of the center of town, usually in residential areas. Not only does this bring them closer to their target market, but it also cuts rents.

If you do decide to situate your medical practice further afield, don’t forget to advertise. If you don’t, people won’t know where you are, especially if you are in a low foot-fall area.

They Offer Parking

For some people, going to the dentist is a bit of an ordeal. When treatment is over, all many patients want to do is drive back to their house in comfort. If parking is an issue, therefore, they’re far less likely to show up.

If you don’t have any parking on your premises, then look for alternative arrangements. See if you can offer street parking. Failing that, explore whether you can share facilities with other local businesses or rent spaces from them.

They Spend A Fortune On Digital Marketing

Digital marketing is a massive opportunity for dental practices. Local SEO, where you target people who live close by, should be a top priority.

The slickest dental clinics know this. That’s why they continually churn out content designed to help them rank at the top of Google results. The more clicks they get, the more patients they can acquire.

Digital marketing, though, isn’t just about conversions. It is also about helping dentists develop their brands. The better your social media presence, the more highly people will think of your practice.
